Since the beginning of baseball, players have engaged in Bench Clearing Brawls.

Baseball is full of unwritten rules.  One being  “You hit one of our Players, we’ll hit one of yours”.  This activity usually leads to a “Brawl”.

The 80s had some of the greatest brawls in history.  Never more eminent than August 12, 1984 when the San Diego Padres and Atlanta Braves duked it out.

The animosity began on the first pitch of the game when Braves starter Pascuel Perez hit Padres hitter Alan Wiggins.

Every time Pascuel Perez came to the plate as a hitter he was thrown at.

Things escalated when Padres pitcher Craig Lefferts hit Perez in the 8th inning.

There were four brawls during the game and 13 players and coaches were ejected and five fans arrested.
